Four hectares is a pretty huge slice of real estate, with the Albion Exchange development split amongst some key areas – there will be commercial, residential and retail along with public open spaces and communal areas. The development application reveals that the $750-million development has a mission to connect the east and west of the suburb, as well as to create some visual interest and break up the Albion skyline.
When it comes to specifics, the 15-year Albion Exchange project has a lot in store. The development’s main attraction is set to be two glass cladded mixed-use residential towers, flanked by commercial and retail at the site below. The Hames Sharley Architects-designed development is set to contribute to the overall revitalisation of Albion as a whole, with residential accommodation, office space, dining and shopping facilities coinciding with $28.7 million worth of upgraded transport facilities.
