But for those looking to secure riverfront digs in Brisbane (who also happen to have at least $2 million handy), the new Banc tower development in Toowong offers plenty of room. Brisbane’s newest luxury and ultra boutique riverfront project, Banc was designed by WMK Architects and SJB Interiors (who are among the design consultants behind Sydney’s iconic Barangaroo project).

The 15-storey project will comprise just 33 apartments with exclusive amenities including a wine cellar, infinity-edge pool and residents lounge. The apartments are likely to appeal to high-end buyers who are downsizing from a larger house, but don’t want to compromise on floorplate size. The sky homes will also offer three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a double garage, media room and butler’s pantry – all with panoramic views across the river.
