Enjoy five-star sustainable hospitality at Crystalbrook Vincent

Crystalbrook Collection, one Australia's leading independent hospitality groups, has bolstered its range of hotels with the recent acquisition of Howard Smith Wharves landmark The Fantauzzo. Now known as Crystalbrook Vincent, the 166-room accommodation spot retains the eye-catching charm and creative energy of its namesake, artist Vincent Fantauzzo, while enhancing its focus on sustainability.

Over the past three years, Crystalbrook Collection has cemented itself as a key player in Australia’s five-star hotel and resort landscape, rapidly expanding its portfolio to include destinations in Sydney, Byron Bay and Cairns. Crystalbrook’s latest expansion phase has brought the group to Brisbane, with Crystalbrook Vincent – formerly known as The Fantauzzo – joining the fold. The boutique property, which sits underneath the Story Bridge at the Howard Smith Wharves riverside hub, originally opened in 2019 as part of AccorHotels’ Art Series Hotels collection. Archibald People’s Choice Award winner Vincent Fantauzzo was recruited to provide the inspirational foundation for the hotel’s visual identity, with 180 artworks and more than 500 prints adorning the hotels lobby space, hallways and rooms. Under the Crystalbrook banner, Crystalbrook Vincent retains much of its creative and aesthetic verve, but the team is elevating the destination’s focus on sustainability as part of an operational ethos that’s centred around responsible luxury.

Crystalbrook Vincent, which boasts 166 rooms, a rooftop pool, 24-hour fitness centre, ground-floor restaurant Polpetta, and rooftop cocktail bar Fiume, is transitioning to be a single-use plastic-free operation – an approach that has saved three million plastic bottles from entering landfill over the past two years. The hotel’s bathrooms are now 100-perfect waste free, recycled and upcycled materials will be used for its key cards, coat hangers and toothbrushes, and technology, such as in-room iPads and mobile check-in, help create a paperless environment. Crystalbrook Vincent’s eateries will also source 8o-percent of produce from within a three-hour drive of each hotel. Keen on a sustainable staycation?
