Acclaimed painter, sculptor and Archibald Prize-finalist David Bromley has partnered with Sekisui House to be the artist-in-residence at the West Village development for the next 12 months, signing on to transform the former Peters Ice Cream Factory site with a collection of impressive murals. Alongside his wife Yuge, David will live-in at the West Village site while he works on what will be the biggest piece of his career to date. Across the 2.6-hectare site, several murals will be created throughout the year, adding a strong aesthetic to the existing architecture and streetscapes.

David and Yuge’s company Bromley & Co will set up an arts and events studio in West Village, which will be exhibiting David Bromley artworks, Blackman by Bromley Artworks and photographs by Angus O’Callaghan. The studio space will also be used to host up-and-coming Queensland talent for collaborations that will hopefully plant the seeds for long-lasting artistic endeavours in the area. David and Yuge’s company Bromley & Co has been responsible for mural projects at locations such as Melbourne’s Chapel Street and the Eastland shopping centre.
