Silver screens and dynamite dining options – DFO Jindalee is set for a major overhaul

One of Brisbane’s premier discount shopping destinations is set to see some seriously big improvements in the coming years. A development application has been submitted to overhaul DFO Jindalee, transforming the retail outlet into a destination for far more than just a cheeky bargain.

Back in 2016, locally-based family the Wens bought DFO Jindalee for a reported $46.6 million, adding it to their $200 million portfolio of shopping centres throughout Queensland. Chin Yin Pty Ltd has submitted a development application to overhaul the site in two stages – the first will introduce a proposed BCF retail outlet, with the second stage including plans for a new six-theatre Reading cinema alongside new food and drink outlets.

There are some more exciting happenings coming in with the DFO Jindalee proposal. With the new BCF would come extended trading hours for the retailer, with existing businesses following suit to match. The theatre, food and drink outlets would also be privy to extended hours, and additional parking spaces have been planned to allow for increased patronage.
