Catch a first glimpse of the opulent new Emporium Hotel South Bank

Since it was announced that luxury boutique outfit Emporium Hotels would be opening its new flagship at South Bank, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to see just how fine and fancy the new digs would be. Well, the wait is very nearly over – and we’ve been given a little sneak peek of what to expect when the doors open to the public.

Taking up residence within the $600 million Southpoint precinct, The Emporium Hotel South Bank is almost ready to go – with 143 seriously slick suites, a killer food and beverage offering and a spectacular rooftop, as well as a 23-metre infinity edge pool and bar with stunning views of the Brisbane River and city skyline. The independently owned and operated hotel is the brainchild of Anthony and Francine John, the original owners of the original Emporium location in Fortitude Valley. The duo’s new location carries over their design-driven ethos, as they have enlisted the skills of a number of Queensland-based artisans to create bespoke features. The brand-new space will also have some familiar bits – some of the original Fortitude Valley hotel’s opulent pieces have been carried over to the new location, including the iconic antique Parisian shopfront.

When it comes to the in-room experience, Emporium Hotel South Bank isn’t doing things by halves. There is no gradual slope up to elegance – every single room is decked out with a bronze wet bar, 55-inch mirror television that doubles as functional art and a Bose Sound Bar. The rooms also boast an ensuite with double vanities, privacy switch glass and super-luxe bathing amenities (plus fluffy robes and slippers, of course). A baller mini-bar offering including a Eurocave eight-bottle wine fridge stocked with premium local and international drops, plus a 24-hour in-suite dining menu round things off nicely.

Emporium Hotel South Bank is set to open before the end of August – keep your eyes on The Weekend Edition for more information.
