Home by Harlequin will colour your world with its sunny and speckled ceramics

The right ceramics can add so much joy to your everyday life, which is exactly the aim of Home by Harlequin. Each handmade piece of goodness from this Sydney-based studio is a little ray of sunshine designed to be both beautiful and functional, striking a perfect balance of work and play.

Home by Harlequin is the brainchild of Lauren Eaton, a Sydney-based creative and designer who is self-taught in the art of ceramics. After feeling a strong desire to create something unique and handcrafted, Laura set about learning everything she could – from casting to working with silicone and resin, her skill set is all the result of pure passion and a dedication to her craft. If you’ve ever tried your hand at making ceramics (or even if you haven’t), you’re probably aware that the process is time-consuming and can be very frustrating. Laura persevered through the early stages to create Home by Harlequin, a playful but functional brand full of surprise and delight.

Home by Harlequin is coming in hot with its debut collection, named Camarilla. The series has been conceptualised around exploring the beauty in repurposed objects – taking materials beyond their everyday use to create something totally original. The collection is made up of 18 pieces cast by hand using a combination of various casting stones, coloured oxides, and resin. Each piece is finished with an environmentally responsible oil sealant to ensure durability. As well as looking beautiful, the collection has been designed to be functional, tactile and lightweight with a colour palette that is playful without being impractical. The bespoke nature of the objects celebrates the imperfections in all things handmade.

Home by Harlequin is currently in the process of restocking its online store – you can keep up to date by checking back regularly.
