If eye-catching homewares get your motor running, best you head to IKEA to ogle its new collection, GILTIG – the result of a unique collaboration with London-based menswear designer, Katie Eary. Known for her boundary-pushing ways, Katie has married wacky patterns (think felines, aquatic life and body parts) with effervescent colours and transferred them onto a range of pieces guaranteed to liven up even the dullest of spaces.

Head-turning pieces in the GILTIG collection include serving bowls and teacups emblazoned with kittens, coasters and pendant lamp shades adorned with red and blue eyeballs, tea towels and aprons featuring ruby-hued brains and teeth, and plates and tablecloths brandishing turquoise fish. For the conservative folk among us, the collection also features cushions, glassware and lampshades that are a little less zany. The innovative, cutting-edge range is the first of many planned collaborations between IKEA and international fashion designers.
