Although in The Weekend Edition office we might not consider ourselves the most accomplished plant parents, we still love our leafy, green babies. We’ve fallen in love with a new discovery that can solve our plant maintenance troubles, while also adding a breath of fresh air to our homes. San Francisco’s Habitat Horticulture has designed a table that can foster a collection of your favourite plants, allowing them to thrive with less maintenance than regular potting.
Designed by Habitat Horticulture’s David Brenner to house standard four-inch containers, the Living Table is perfect for low-growing, ground-cover plants. The Living Table features a unique self-watering irrigation system that ensures that plants can self-regulate water uptake. The table features a thick tempered glass top, sitting above a leafy layer, soil, felt and a layer of bio balls in a stainless-steel basin installed on a solid walnut wood frame – creating a suitable environment for growth and a stylish decorative element. Head to the Habitat Horticulture website for more information and updates on when we can get our hands on the table in Australia.
