Get a closer look inside James Street’s urban resort The Calile

It’s barely been a fortnight since the opening of The Calile on James Street, but already the town is abuzz with praise for the hotel’s top-tier amenities. The hotel officially launches today, Thursday October 11, which means we can give you a bit of a glimpse at what’s inside the modern façade.

If you haven’t taken a moment to wander into James Street’s newest luxury tenant The Calile, then allow us to give you a brief, tantalising rundown. The hotel’s Richards and Spence-designed aesthetic follows a breezy subtropical scheme, with a smart interplay between interior and exterior creating a feast for the senses. Softly vaulted corridors that are naturally ventilated wind through the building’s interior, linking 175 rooms (including nine suites and two premier suites), two rooftop terraces, a clock tower, amphitheatre and pool space. Naturally, the rooms are also fashionably appointed with cork floors, sisal matting, marble bathroom finishes, day beds, dining tables, Grown Alchemist bath amenities and motorised blackout blinds creating an ultra-luxe accommodation experience.

The Calile’s pool is the perfect spot to relax, with seven cabanas to stake out while sipping cocktails from Simon Gloftis’ Greek restaurant Hellenika. When it comes to pampering, you’d best believe that The Calile has been built with groundbreaking amenities designed to revitalise and rejuvenate. The pool deck level is where you’ll find the KAILO Wellness Medispa, which offers a curated holistic wellness package, customised treatment rooms, spa wellness pods and six kinds of massage. Forme Fitness is also open for those looking to get a workout in, with brand-new gym equipment, personal training services and luxurious amenities to boot. Finally, The Calile is host to a suite of event, meeting and conference spaces, including a 500-capacity Grand Room, two drawing rooms for gatherings of 24 guests each and the outdoor amphitheatre, which offers an alfresco entertaining option overlooking the pool deck.

The Calile is now open for bookings. Keep your eyes peeled for a closer look at the Lobby Bar and Hellenika.
