The Calile set to transform James Street into bona fide luxury destination

If you’ve pounded the pavement along James Street and wondered what the deal was with the large hole in the ground, allow us to fill you in. The Calile is a brand new luxury hotel that is set to rise above the boutiques and bars along the popular boulevard, setting a luxe standard for boutique accommodation alongside plenty of engaging retail opportunities.

Reminiscent of iconic Hollywood hotels such as Chateau Marmont and the Beverly Hills Hotel is The Calile – the forthcoming luxury development currently rising on the corner of James and Doggett Streets. The gorgeous Richards & Spence-designed hotel will span 2600 square metres and will boast 178 luxury hotel rooms, quickly establishing the shopping and dining hub as one of Brisbane’s most fashionable destinations. With Brisbane’s warm sub-tropical climate in mind, the new hotel will take shape as an oasis, boasting a crisp Hollywood-chic facade supplemented with green touches and luxury amenities.

Developed by the family-owned Calile Malouf Investments, The Calile will ascend seven storeys above James Street and will include day spa facilities, a function room catering to 300 patrons, a podium-level pool (complete with poolside cabanas) and a stellar restaurant and bar. The ground floor of the development will be given over to sublime flagship retail boutiques, gourmet eateries and nightlife hot spots. The Calile will be bringing a slice of Los Angeles luxury to James Street in 2018 and will be operated by the Australian-based TFE (Toga Far East) Hotels.
