James Street’s TWFINEART gallery relocates to Newstead

Change is brewing for TWFINEART gallery, with a move to larger premises and a major new exhibition opening next month.

After more than four years inhabiting the same sleek space on James Street, one of the nation’s most progressive art galleries TWFINEART is on the move. The gallery has grown significantly since its 2014 opening, prompting the move to more spacious digs. After searching for the right space for more than 12 months, gallery owner Tove Langridge finally found the perfect spot: a retro 155 sqm warehouse complete with loft-style 8-metre-high ceilings and a private courtyard, at 22 Masters Street in Newstead.

To celebrate the new five-year lease, TWFINEART gallery will host an opening night soiree with famed LA abstract artist Chris Trueman from 6:00–9:00 pm on Friday June 7. Praised as being one of the most important abstract artists of our time, this will be the artist’s only Australian showing of his newest collection of work, Tropical Industrial. To celebrate the grand opening exhibition, TWFINEART has collaborated with the artist to release a limited-edition T-Shirt, while Gerard’s Bistro has created two signature cocktails for the evening based on the Tropical Industrial theme. Chris Trueman’s Tropical Industrial will be on exhibition at TWFINEART until Wednesday July 10.
