Valley Live development proposal aims to blend boundaries between suburbs

The lines between Fortitude Valley and Bowen Hills will blur according to a new development proposal that looks to add a mixed-use property on Montpelier Road. The development – tentatively named Valley Live – will construct a collection of office buildings set above an urban plaza boasting food and beverage retail spaces and more.

Valley Live – a new proposed development spearheaded by OPD Developers and architects Nettletron Tribe – has been submitted for consideration with the aim of adding a new dimension to the fringe of Fortitude Valley. Looking to offer a range of amenities, Valley Live will feature commercial spaces as well as retail offerings and public spaces for locals to take advantage of. The commercial towers, which have been designed to reduce bulk on Montpelier Road, hug the boundaries of the site. Boasting strong horizontal forms, the towers are primed to offer unbeatable viewing locations towards the city and the plaza below. A podium level wraps around the plaza offering a link between both sides of the development, while also vertical separation between plaza and towers and space for a private landscape deck for tenants.

The proposed retail component will looks to offer space for a mix of cafe and restaurant tenancies across two levels, as well as a potential fresh produce market to cater to all needs. In addition to the food and drink amenities, plans also make space for a retail, cinema and gym in the precinct. The plaza itself is designed to be an eclectic gathering point for the local workforce, with covered and open-air dining, lush plantings and a potential cross-block link providing pedestrian access from Rosetta Street and the Bowen Hills Station.

Valley Live’s development application number is A004687159 – click through to have a closer look at the proposed plans.
