Swedish aesthetics meets natural design at Sydney’s Zakkia

Handmade home wares offer a level of satisfaction unmatched by mass-produced goods. Zakkia celebrates the raw and unrefined beauty inherent in bespoke craftsmanship – putting forth a new collection of goods made with quality materials by hand.

If you’ve been fortunate enough to get your hands on a set of goods from Zakkia, you’ve probably marvelled at the intricate little details of each item. This homewares brand is known for blending Scandinavian sensibilities with raw materials to bring together two distinct worlds. The brand was created in 2012 by Swedish expat Sara Lundgren, who decided to combine the natural beauty of her adopted home of Bondi for her products. Since its creation, Zakkia has released two collections each year, offering a selection of lust-worthy, multi-use home wares that can be enjoyed over a lifetime.

Zakkia’s 16.02 collection features a range of Terrazzo marble vessels available in three colours, oil and vinegar bottles, tableware, serving boards and bathroom storage goods. The ceramic goods are made by family-owned and operated manufacturers in Vietnam, sourcing clay from the local area before being refined into the stylish goods available online or at The Wondery in Milton, Adorne in West End, Sheets on the Line in Paddington or Perch & Pantry in Cleveland. Head to Zakkia’s website to have a look at the 16.02 wares now.
