Say hello to Mother Nature
Let’s start with the main reason everyone comes to Noosa, shall we? From the abundant greenery and native animals to the pristine beaches, this town is mighty pretty to look at. Take the Noosa National Park walk from Main Beach to Little Cove and Alexandra Bay to have a squiz of some of the more local spots, and be sure to bring a towel – we dare you to walk past the bays without going in for a dip. Noosa Heads is also a primo surfing destination with a rich heritage in the sport – this is reflected in its status as a protected surfing reserve. Even if you’re not the most coordinated person, surfing the Noosa breaks on a trusty longboard is something everyone needs to attempt at least once.

Where to rest your head
It’s all about location in Noosa, and one of the top places to stay is Peppers Resort and Villas. Perched on Hastings Hill, these stylish digs have the benefit of being an easy stroll to the main hubs of Noosa – Hastings Street and Noosa Junction – but also nestled on the edge of the National Park. Why choose between beach and bush when you can have both in the same spot? Genius.
Dining destinations
Staying fuelled for your vacation is important, so take it from us when we say that the top place to nosh is Sails Restaurant. Not only is the menu a delight and the wine list very thorough (think fresh and local seafood for days) but also the restaurant is quite literally on the beach – nothing between you and the sand but a strip of boardwalk. Another must-try is Locale, where you can treat yourself to the best Italian eats on the Sunshine Coast. Both of these spots are conveniently located just down the hill from Peppers, so you can linger longer without a care in the world.
Cheers to that
Holidaying is thirsty work, and we have it on good authority that the best place to nab a cold one is the Noosa Heads Surf Club. It’s hard not to be charmed by a stunning Noosa sunset over the gentle waves of Main Beach, but this image is made even better when you’re sipping on one of 30 local or imported beers on tap. If you’re feeling a bit fancy, head to Miss Moneypenny’s for a cheeky cocktail – the offering here will blow your mind.
Java time
Real talk – coffee is life. The best way to kick-start your heart in Noosa is a visit to Aromas, the Hastings Street institution that is a well-known haven for people watching. Pull up a cute street-facing wicker chair and sip on some of the coast’s most fantastic coffee as you watch the stream of colourful characters pass by. Another hot java spot is Blended in the Bay Village precinct – the blend is to die for and the smoothies really hit the spot if you’re not feeling caffeine vibes.
Treat yo’self
It can be a tough slog taking in one of the most beautiful places in Australia, so it’s important to take time out to recharge those batteries. Stephanies Ocean Spa is a one-stop shop for all pampering needs – think facials, hot stone massages and even Geisha bath therapy. For an equally relaxing experience, you can head to the AQUA Day Spa – located within the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort, this tranquil haven will have you feeling like you’re floating on air.
Shopping spree
If you can tear yourself away from the beaches for long enough, the iconic Hastings Street is the place to head for some serious retail therapy. There’s a great mix of local boutiques like Signature and bigger names such as Witchery, but it would be criminal not to stop in at Noosa Longboards – even if you’re just browsing, this place is a goldmine of legit surf culture.

Going back to that whole Mother Nature thing, soaking up the splendour of Noosa’s earthy charm can be best done with a picnic. Head to Belmondos to nab some amazing produce, then head to the end of Hastings Street towards Claude Batten Drive. This road leads to the Noosa River Mouth, which is a perfect place to spread out with your goodies. Added bonus – there’s a dog beach nearby!
Take a dip
We all like to think we’re extras in Point Break or Baywatch from time to time, but staying safe in the surf is super important – especially if you don’t have the training to get yourself out of a sticky situation. For a swim between the flags, your best bet is Main Beach.
