Odds are you may have strolled through APT9 before since its opening last year – after all, the exhibition has recently celebrated the milestone of welcoming 500,000 visitors through the gallery doors to catch a glimpse of what’s on offer. It’s no wonder people have flocked to see it – APT9 boasts work from more than 80 artists and groups from over 30 countries, from thrilling paintings to painstakingly detailed installations. A lot of what is on display at the exhibition has never been seen before – so make sure you catch it while you can. The exhibition’s accompanying cinema program will also be packing up at the end of the month, so April provides a last opportunity to take in some next-level cinema across genres and styles you may never have explored before.
It may be the final weeks of the APT9 exhibition, but that doesn’t mean the action is slowing down by any means. A guided tour is the best way to check out all of the incredible work on offer, but patrons are also free to wander and discover as they please. One event coming up that you shouldn’t miss is the talk with artist Iman Raad, who is responsible for the eye-popping mural installation that you would have seen all over Instagram – be sure to swing by and see him in conversation with Ellie Buttrose, the Associate Curator of International Art at QAGOMA.
APT9 is running at QAGOMA until Sunday April 28 – entry is free, so don’t miss out on your chance to scope some truly incredible art before it disappears forever.
