After a sold-out season last year, the Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival (AVRFF) is back at Brisbane Powerhouse to present some of the most cutting-edge work in its most modern format. The AVRFF is our country’s only event focusing on VR storytelling, and as such has attracted some of the best in the medium to present their work. A stunning selection of short films, documentaries and music videos that integrate the use of virtual reality technology will be available to view, having been hand-picked by industry experts to showcase the best of the field.
The works on offer at this year’s Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival explore a great range of topics, from the heavy and heartbreaking to the exhilarating and uplifting. Join Laird Hamilton in Peru as he chases the longest wave in the world, follow street artist RONE as he works on his large-scale lady portraits, venture behind the barbed-wire fences of Manus Island, or even go back in time to the first widely publicised alien abduction in the US. The next generation of filmmakers has been working hard to bring these stories to life – and to allow you in.
Ready to enter another dimension? You can grab tickets to the Australian Virtual Reality Film Festival through Brisbane Powerhouse.
