Let’s be honest ­– one of the most exciting aspects of exploring another culture is undoubtedly the food, and you’d better believe that BrisAsia Festival truly delivers in the culinary exploration (and appreciation) department. One of the most hyped events is Dumpling Day, taking over Wandering Cooks on Saturday February 17 to celebrate everyone’s favourite little flavour parcels. Another exciting one to watch is the Korean Soellal New Year’s Lunch at the brand-new Korean Society Hall, where you can witness the creation of a giant Bibimbap as well as fun games, performances and more delicious food.

As well as the eats, BrisAsia Festival is all about uncovering all facets of Asian culture. As you can imagine, there is plenty of enriching activities happening for the duration of the festival, covering all corners of the continent. One of the major highlights is the Lunar New Year Rooftop Party on Saturday February 24, turning Sunnybank Plaza’s rooftop carpark into a giant celebration to honour the Year of the Dog. Speaking of celebrations, South Bank will play host to a Summer Party on Saturday February 17 that will highlight the more quirky parts of Asian pop culture (hello, cosplay and K-pop). You can also check out the stunning Holi Festival of Colours where you get to throw coloured powder around, bust a gut laughing at Wonton of Laughs (the festival’s first-ever comedy show) or illuminate your mind at the inaugural BrisAsia Symposium.
