Fall into a dessert coma at seven-day chocolate celebration ChocWeek

Get ready to pull on your stretchy pants – Brisbane's only chocolate festival is back with sweet treats galore. To celebrate World Chocolate Day on Tuesday July 7, Hamilton retail and dining precinct Portside Wharf is hosting its annual week-long decadent dessert extravaganza – ChocWeek – from Monday July 6 to Sunday July 12. The precinct is taking notes from Willy Wonka and is temporarily transforming into a sugary haven, with Portside Wharf's much-loved vendors slinging an assortment of sweet treats.

A good excuse to eat as many sugary morsels as possible sans guilt, ChocWeek is seven days of absolute cacao-infused bliss. Start off your delectable delicacy voyage with a piece of scrumptious dark-chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sorbet, caramelised white-chocolate and toasted cocoa nibs from @ Mr & Mrs Jones, then move onto chocolate nachos and chocolate-topped churro tacos courtesy of Burrito Bar. If you need a quick hit to grab-and-go, you can pick up a chocolate coconut rough slice from Cruisers Alfresco (which you can score two-for-one), or enjoy a sinfully stacked Nutella pizza from Gusto da Gianni.

Thirsty punters will be happy to hear that the creative mixologists at Portside Wharf are even serving up chocolate cocktails, including the likes of a white chocolate and chilli margarita from Byblos. Pair it with a chocolate-filled sambousek pastry while you’re there for the ultimate indulgence. If you’re a lover of lamingtons, @ Mr & Mrs Jones is shaking up a chocolate coconut martini made with vodka, Monin chocolate syrup and coconut extract, topped with coconut shavings.

For further details on all of the chocolate offers, visit the Portside Wharf website or make tracks to the riverside retail and dining hub to start satiating your sweet tooth.
