South Brisbane’s Fish Lane Festival returns with a splash

Drink, dance and dine the day away as South Brisbane’s iconic laneway is transformed into the hotspot of the city. From midday on Saturday May 12, bring your mates and your appetite down to Fish Lane Festival – it’s going to be tasty!

Once just a sleepy industrial corner of the city, Fish Lane has rapidly become one of the city’s most popular destinations for foodies. As a celebration of this, Fish Lane Festival has been curated to showcase the best of the precinct across food, drink and culture. Now in its third year, Fish Lane Festival is back with an even bigger line-up of the most popular food trucks, musicians and breweries from around Brisbane. Returning to the line up this year are foodie favourites including Julius Pizzeria, Billykart Bar, Naïm on Melbourne, Birds Nest Yakitori, Five Sisters and plenty more, whilst new eateries Kiss the Berry, and Ol’ School are added to the  delicious eats on offer. Plus Gelato Messina has created custom desserts that you can only get your hands on at Fish Lane Festival, including a decadent passionfruit cheesecake with raspberry gel, passionfruit curd and vanilla gelato, topped with a meringue crown and dusted with passionfruit powder. It’s sure to get your tastebuds tingling!

If you’re in need of some refreshments after all of these treats look to the pop-up bars – you can sip everything from gin and tonics at the Tanqueray Gin Garden to ice-cold craft beers at Colonial Brewing Co. With new urban artworks showcased by up-and-coming artists such as Elizabeth Woods and Kevin Leong, the festival is serving up scoops of culture as well as scoops of ice-cream. Need to work off all that eating? Boogie the night away with live bands and DJ sets to finish the night in style. We suggest bringing your dancing shoes and wearing your stretchiest pants in preparation.
