Winter Up Late is set to bring GOMA to life after dark, giving art and music lovers a chance to explore the Gallery in a different light. The chilled atmosphere is enhanced with a killer selection of live bands, bars to keep the beverages flowing, plus pop-up performances set to activate the artwork. For the duration of Up Late, chamber ensemble Nonsemble will be bringing Quilty and Olley’s works to life with a range of cheeky pop-up performances, where you can expect to hear reimagined pop hits packed with loads of experimental musicality – very on brand with the trailblazing artists in question.

So who can you expect to see gracing the Winter Up Late stage throughout August? The line-up reads like a veritable who’s who of Australia’s most beloved bands and artists across generations and genres – there really is something for every taste. The first session on August 2 with the ever-popular Pub Choir and Jim Moginie from Midnight Oil has already sold out, but there are still four sessions with limited tickets up for grabs. You can catch sets from the inimitable songstress Clare Bowditch, Brisbane’s own indie-rock kings Custard, the mesmerising Yolngu artist and Milingimbi (Yurrwi) man Gawurra, plus an electrifying appearance from eight-piece hip-hop collective The Herd.
