Forget your winter hibernation plans – Good Food Month presented by Citi has just dropped the first feature events of its ambitious program for 2019, and it’s a goodie. The ever-popular open-air, hawker-style Night Noodle Markets will return to South Bank from Wednesday July 24 to Sunday August 4, serving up favourites from Hoy Pinoy, Gelato Messina, Shallot Thai, Bangkok Street Food, What the Pho, Bao Wow, Bao Brothers, Twistto and Waffleland, among others. The Let’s Do Lunch presented by Church Road series will see hatted restaurants inviting foodies in for lunch and a glass of Church Road wine, beer or soft drink for the special price of $45 throughout July, while Friends of Good Food Month will also return with a host of unique food events and collaborations.
GOMA x Lûmé will see the culinary masterminds behind two-hatted restaurant Lûmé and GOMA unite for a special six-course degustation feast with matching wines and beer on Friday July 12. Fine dining will be served with a fun twist at this collaborative event held in the gallery itself, where the art on your plate will be as impressive as the art on the walls around you. Experience the ultimate “I was there” moment when three of our city’s most-talked-about rising chefs take over the kitchen at OTTO under the guidance of head chef Will Cowper. Tickets to the Young Chefs Lunch presented by Citi on Sunday July 14 will include three courses with matching wines and beer. After two sell-out Canberra Good Food Month events in March, Destination Flavour TV host and cookbook author Adam Liaw will take you on a cultural and culinary journey at Brisbane’s coolest modern Chinese restaurant, Donna Chang. Join Adam Liaw at Donna Chang on Thursday July 4 for six courses with matching wines and beer. Keep watch on the Brisbane Good Food Month website for further event announcements and have credit cards at the ready when tickets go on sale at 9:00 am on Tuesday May 14.
