Crowned by The Washington Post as “our greatest living jazz artist,” Herbie Hancock has undeniably left a lasting mark on modern music. Whilst in the Miles Davis Quintet, Herbie helped redefine the role of a jazz rhythm section before his solo career pioneered the post-bop sound.

The musical mastermind behind the classic album Head Hunters, Herbie is best known for his chart-topping tracks like “Cantaloupe Island”, “Chameleon” and “Rockit”. Throughout his career, Herbie has collaborated with the likes of Miles Davis, Leonard Cohen and Paul Simon with his forthcoming album teased to feature Kendrick Lamar, Thundercat and Snoop Dogg. From his Academy-Award-winning score to his GRAMMY-award-winning Joni Mitchell tribute album, the Chicago-born artist has boldly traversed an array of music styles, instrumentation and genres throughout his more than 40 studio albums.

The 84 year old will be bringing his unmistakable voice and legendary music library to QPAC this Thursday October 17 for an intimate performance. Supported by his stellar band, Herbie will take audiences through his fascinating career – reminiscing on by-gone eras, remembering his contemporaries and renewing his status as a living legend.
