Oh, what a night – the Jersey Boys are back in town

Hot damn, we love a good rags to riches story that also happens to be true – and they don’t come much better than that of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. It’s a classic tale of four blue-collar boys with rough backgrounds that go from zero to hero at a skyrocketing pace. The self-made stars did things their way – they wrote their own songs, created their own sound and changed the face of music as it is today (all before hitting 30 years of age, mind you). Their story has been adapted for the stage with thrilling success – Jersey Boys hits QPAC from January 2, 2019 and you’d better believe it lives up to the hype.

Jersey Boys has certainly made a splash since it first opened – the critically acclaimed musical has managed to nab a whopping 57 honours and awards worldwide since its debut. Amongst the accolades are the 2010 Helpmann Award, 2006 Tony Award® and Olivier Award for Best Musical, plus the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. It’s now Brisbane’s turn to get a taste of the action when the show slides into QPAC for a strictly limited season – good luck trying not to tap your toes during hits like ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You’, ‘Walk Like a Man’, ‘Bye Bye Baby’, ‘Sherry’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’.

A musical as monumental as Jersey Boys requires some serious star power to carry it, and the cast involved in the production truly delivers this in spades. The dynamic cast brings together a host of exciting and emerging Australian talent. The big shoes of Frankie Valli himself are being helmed by Ryan Gonzalez and Daniel Raso, who share the role of the charismatic singer. The leads are rounded out by Cameron Macdonald as Tommy DeVito, Thomas McGuane in his career debut as Bob Gaudio, and Glaston Toft returning to his celebrated role of the band’s musical marvel Nick Massi.

Don’t sleep on this one – tickets to Jersey Boys are available right now through QTIX.
