RSVP to the event of the year with Muriel’s Wedding The Musical

It's been 25 years (yes, really) since Muriel Heslop and the original mean girls captured the collective heart of ABBA-loving Australians with the cult classic film and now, QPAC is giving you the chance to relive all of the sequin-encrusted glory with Muriel's Wedding The Musical.

Gather your gal pals, dust on some electric blue eyeshadow and bust out the Orgasms (the cocktails, people) because Muriel is back, baby! One of Australia’s favourite films of all time (and we mean of. all. time) comes to life on stage in this big, brash and very cheeky new musical. Written by PJ Hogan and directed by Simon Phillips, Muriel’s Wedding the Musical features a seriously saucy soundtrack of new songs by Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall alongside all of your fave ABBA hits to lip-sync along to.

Since its world premiere in Sydney in 2017, Muriel’s Wedding The Musical has won over thousands of theatregoers and earned no less than five Helpmann Awards (2018), seven Sydney Theatre Awards (2018), an Awgie Award (2018), the 2018 David Williamson Prize and an ARIA Award Nomination (2018) – so you know you’re in for a damn fine time. Join Natalie Abbott as Muriel and Stefanie Jones as Rhonda as the unlikely due battle the odds in this hilarious, emotional and heart-warming hit. Muriel’s Wedding The Musical was slated for a September 21 opening in Brisbane, however due to popular demand, new seats have been released – but you’d better be quick because they’re guaranteed to get snapped up faster than an eligible bachelor in Porpoise Spit.

Muriel’s Wedding The Musical is playing now, finishing up its must-see season on Saturday October 26. Don’t risk the FOMO – book your tickets to the wedding of the year right now through QPAC before the show closes.
