Raise your stein – Oktoberfest is back with biers, bites and banger beats

It’s stein time! Australia’s largest Oktoberfest is back for another year, so it’s time to dust off the dirndl and squeeze into those old lederhosen. Over two weekends in October the Brisbane Showgrounds will become a massive wonderland of Germanic food, drink and entertainment.

Come October, thousands upon thousands of revellers the world over will be pretending to be German for an entire month of festivities. Oktoberfest is one of the biggest celebrations of food and drink on the planet and the 2022 iteration of Oktoberfest Brisbane will be one of the biggest events yet, which is a big call considering it’s already the largest Oktoberfest celebration in Australia. On October 7–9 and 14–16 the Brisbane Showgrounds will once again play host to beer halls, food stalls, exhibitions and live entertainment over two weekends of madness.

Unsurprisingly, Oktoberfest Brisbane will be offering a tonne of lederhosen-busting bites, including crowd favourites schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), bratwurst, sauerkraut and schnitzel, plus German cakes, apple strudel and more. Steins of hand-crafted German beers will be served up in the Biergarten, which is the ideal place to settle into an afternoon of soaking up the sun. As for entertainment, you’ll be able to catch the Miss Oktoberfest Brisbane competition, the Bavarian Strongmen competition and the German automotive engineering extravaganza that is the Autoshow. Pick a weekend and gather a group of friends to celebrate with – this is one month where it’s okay to act German, even if you aren’t. Prost!

Grab your tickets now at the Oktoberfest Brisbane website.
