Watch old-school movies, live concerts and sing karaoke at this festive drive-in party

With social distancing measures to remain in place for the foreseeable future, the way we party will look a lot different from here on out. Bush doofs, festivals and clubbing nights may be off the cards for now, however, that doesn't mean some good ol' fashion fun has been removed from the equation. Enter The Parking Lot Social, a new drive-in party series from the team behind the world’s largest jumping castle, The Big Bounce. With live tunes, food trucks, stand-up comedy and car karaoke all part of this huge program of immersive and interactive entertainment, it's safe to say you're in for one wild ride (or park, rather).

The idea for The Parking Lot Social was born from the coronavirus pandemic, which effectively cancelled every exciting event we had pencilled in our calendar. The team behind this first-of-its-kind concept will take the drive-in-parties tour around the country from July to September, with up to 250 carloads of people expected at each shindig. Everyone is required to be parked a safe amount of space apart, to ensure social-distancing measures are being adhered to.

Once you’ve pulled up, you can expect to watch classic flicks on the big screen, sing along to ‘car-a-oke’ sessions, munch on some delicious food-truck nosh, dance the night away at silent discos and treat your ears to some catchy tunes at live gigs, which will be performed on a custom-designed stage. There will also be interactive bingo, themed quizzes, stand-up comedy, live DJs, kid-friendly events for the little ones and much more.

Keen to let your hair down and rave it up? The Parking Lot Social will make a pit-stop at a soon-to-be-announced location in Brisbane from Thursday August 6 to Sunday August 16. Sign up for pre-sale info here.
