The boys are back – Powderfinger reunites for a one-night-only live-streamed charity gig

For the first time in ten years, Brisbane rock legends Powderfinger is reuniting to bring its sweet tunes back for one very special show. Bernard Fanning, Darren Middleton, Ian Haug, Jon Coghill and John ‘JC’ Collins will come together (in their respective home studios) on Saturday May 23 for a one-night-only performance all in the name of a good cause.

One Night Lonely – live-streamed from the band members’ lounge rooms to ours – is the first time Powderfinger has played together since The Sunsets Farewell Tour at Riverstage in 2010. Streaming exclusively on the band’s YouTube channel from 7:00 pm on Saturday May 23, the one-off charity gig will see the boys play a smorgasbord of the band’s most iconic hits – ‘These Days’, ‘My Happiness’,‘(Baby I’ve Got You) On My Mind’ and ‘Sunsets’ will all make an appearance.

The virtual gig will raise money and awareness for mental-health charity Beyond Blue, which helps to support people suffering with mental-health issues, and music-industry charity Support Act, which provides crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing services to Australia’s music industry community who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. All donations will be split evenly between both charities.
