Queensland Music Trails is back for another year and is inviting us city slickers out of our skyscrapers and into Queensland’s beautiful backyard. More than a dozen different regional and metropolitan areas will play host to the bespoke music event this year, including the Scenic Rim, Southern Queensland and Outback Queensland. The Scenic Rim Trail will welcome the return of Canungra-bound festival The Long Sunset, which boasts a cracking line-up of Aussie artists including Lime Cordiale, Sycco, Tia Gostelow and many more. This dynamite day of tunes will be made even better with a host of food trucks and bespoke makers slinging their goodies as the sun sets. The Southern Trail will come to life with its main event Opera at Jimbour, which will feature a star-studded lineup of internationally renowned soloists and chamber musicians performing across one spectacular weekend at the historic Jimbour House.
Those looking to undertake a true-blue Aussie roadtrip can set their GPS for Western Queensland for the Outback Trail. A handful of unmissable gigs make up the roster for the Outback Trail, kicking off with Oasis Afternoon, a full day of blues and roots and contemporary folk music featuring Hussy Hicks, Karl S Williams and Jem Cassar-Daley. The next stop is in Cunnamulla for the Light It Up adventure, where you can deep dive in to the Outback River Lights Festival. Create your own personalised lantern and join the sunset street parade from the banks of the Warrego River to the stage, where Emma Donovan & The Putbacks and Alice Skye will serenade you under the stars. Put on your dancing shoes for the The Big Base Party, headlined by C.W. Stoneking and His Primitive Horn Orchestra, before the fun caps off at The Sundowner party celebrations. It’s here where you can move and groove along with former member of The Cat Empire, Harry James Angus, and enjoy a sing-along led by The Barleyshakes Duo.
General public tickets to this starry series of events go on sale on Tuesday February 14, make tracks over to Queensland Music Trails website to grab yours!
