Shop BNE City is back with shopping steals, pool parties and retro-inspired airport bars

Grab your reusable shopping bags and comfy strolling shoes – the Shop BNE City weekend is back and better than ever! Taking place for one weekend only from Friday October 30 until Sunday November 1, this shopping bonanza is set to take over Queen Street Mall with bargain buys, pool parties, champagne picnics and Pan Am-esque airport bars. Dive in below for a sneak peek of what's on offer ...

Arriving just in time for a spot of early Christmas shopping, Shop BNE City is bursting with fashion steals and stellar dining discounts, with more than 70 exclusive deals at your favourite stores and restaurants to take advantage of. Once you’ve shopped up a storm, you can head across the mall to the rooftop Pool Terrace at NEXT Hotel to cool off. This tropical oasis will have a live DJ spinning on the decks as well as a bevy of food and drink offers to take a plunge into. The best part? The pool will be open to the general public for the first time ever, so remember to bring your togs! To continue sipping and snacking, make tracks to the Queen Street Mall Departures Lounge – a retro-inspired pop-up bar outside of NEXT Hotel. Here you can live out your 2020 travel fantasies (there’s even a virtual reality lounge that will send you to exotic destinations) as you sit back, relax and indulge in a delicious cocktail and bar snacks menu that will be delivered to your table by an air hostess. Think Pan Am-style opulence, but without the pricey plane fare!

The fun continues with a sensational selection of exclusive pop-up bars and live entertainment throughout the mall. Hungry shoppers can head to Stanton Bar in QueensPlaza to enjoy its Veuve Summer Picnic deal, where for just $99 you can score a crisp bottle of Veuve Clicquot to sip on while you tuck into two gourmet lobster rolls and a basket of frites – the perfect lunchtime feast to share with a mate! Afterwards, you can make your way to an Italian-inspired Gordon’s Sicilian Lemon Gin pop-up bar in Queen Street Mall, where revellers can enjoy a refreshing botanical concoction with gin spritz, Stone & Wood, prosecco and much more gracing the menu. If you’ve worked up an appetite, tuck into a bounty of mouth-watering eats like mushroom and truffle arancini balls, salt and pepper calamari, and snapper and tiger prawn spring rolls.

Shopping got you thirsty? Say cheers to the weekend at City Winery’s new Cellar Door on Edward Street with a free wine tasting! There’s plenty to wet your whistle with – think varieties such as riesling, grüner veltliner, grenache and pinot noir. Pair your drop of choice with City Winery’s cheese and charcuterie selection – there really isn’t a duo more well-suited than wine and cheese. Follow up your sipping session by settling in for an afternoon of smooth tunes from some of the best local artists at the City Sounds Live Lounge in Queen Street Mall. There will be live music sets happening all day across the weekend to keep the good vibes going while you shop.

There are many more festivities still to be revealed, so keep your eyes peeled on the Brisbane City website for more event announcements in the coming days.
