Rising music star Jess Hitchcock set to dazzle in Songs that Made Me concert

First Nations performer, composer and singer-songwriter extraordinaire Jess Hitchcock is one to watch in the Australian music scene. Her stunning voice has seen her take the stage with homegrown music legends Paul Kelly and Kate Miller-Heidke. Later this month, Jess is performing a collection of songs that celebrate her storied career so far in Songs that Made Me, another must-see concert in Opera Queensland's bewitching 2022 season.

After the great success of The Sopranos earlier in the year, Opera Queensland continues to knock it out of the park with their dynamite 2022 season, brimming with once-in-a-lifetime concerts in the outback and new productions created with some of Australia’s brightest stars. From May 27–28, audiences can discover the wonders of Jess Hitchcock’s beautiful voice when she performs in Songs that Made Me.

As well as her award-winning performance in The Rabbits, Jess has sung with many an Aussie superstar, taking the stage with Kate Miller-Heidke at the Eurovision song contest in Israel and Paul Kelly on his Making Gravy tour. If that’s not enough to celebrate, Jess released a track with Paul titled Everyday My Mother’s Voice. Over two magical evenings in late May, Jess will take the audience on a melody-fuelled journey exploring opera, musical theatre, folk, pop and jazz – trust us when we say her voice will blow you away.

This is one glorious gig that can’t be missed. Grab your tickets at the Opera Queensland website
