Grab your gumboots and glitter – here’s our pick of the mind-blowing activations coming to this year’s Splendour in the Grass

We hope you've got your gumboots ready – Australia's biggest music festival Splendour in the Grass is finally kicking off this weekend after a two-year hiatus! We know you're probably up to speed on the massive line-up of killer acts coming together (Gorillaz, we're coming for you!), but we have the lowdown on all of the other glitter-soaked and fun-filled activations amping up the good vibes from Friday July 22 to Sunday July 24. Before you start packing your Byron best, read on to learn more about the exciting bars and areas you can check out at this year's Splendour ...

Smirnoff Seltzer Springs
Wanderlust-stricken folks will be happy to learn that Smirnoff is bringing a Palm Springs-themed immersive experience to this year’s Splendour and, speaking for ourselves, we can’t wait to have a geez. The two-story mega-marquee is the ideal spot for festival-goers to kick back, relax and enjoy top-notch tunes from emerging artists and internationally acclaimed DJs while also indulging in Smirnoff’s new range of Seltzer flavours – think Peach Iced Tea, Natural Orange and Mixed Berries. The summer-inspired oasis will be lined with colourful beach umbrellas and cacti, and from 12:00 pm every day, vocalists and beat-spinners will fill the air with music from the desert-inspired Cabana Stage. Expect a performance from R&B pop prince Adrian Dzvuke and sets from international DJs such as Brooke Powell, Sequënce, Laura King and April Kelly, who will hit the decks until 2:00 am on the Seltzer Springs downstairs main stage. There will even be a free enviro-glitter station, where you can get as bedazzled as Rue from Euphoria.

Rainbow Bar
If you didn’t make it to any Mardi Gras celebrations this year, the Rainbow Bar is here to help you start your redemption arc. Don your best dancing shoes and get ready to celebrate the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ community at this rainbow-soaked sipping spot. Punters will be able to revel in a disco ball-laden dance club, where your favourite bangers will be played live and loud well into the night. The colourful bar will feature programming by some of the hottest taste makers in the country including party starters Canned Fruit, GiRLTHING and POOF DOOF. Count us in.

Temperance Bar
For those trying to conquer Dry July, Splendour is here to help you continue your sober sipping endeavours! Temperance Bar is the festival’s brand-new no-alcohol bar serving up bespoke mocktails carefully curated by expert mixologist Marc Romanin. Marc has designed drink menus for brands across the globe and helped create first-rate non-alcoholic cocktail menus for some of Australia’s best bars and restaurants like Chin Chin and Gimlet, so you know your taste buds will be in good hands. Goodbye post-festival headache, hello heavenly tipples!

VIP Village
Want to unleash your inner party-monster alter-ego in style? Look no further than the VIP Village. Lovers of luxury can snag themselves a pre-loved VIP Village ticket to enjoy bougie benefits like VIP concierge, a private cocktail bar, exclusive fancy bathrooms, a complimentary phone charging service, firepits and much more. Plus, you’ll be able to fill your belly with mouth-watering produce from iconic Byron Bay restaurant Barrio or munch on delicious Detroit-style square pizzas from Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham, the stars behind Sydney’s burger institution Mary’s.
