From humble beginnings as a series of laid-back shows at a hole-in-the-wall bar in Melbourne, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival has grown into one of Australia’s most beloved meetings of musical minds. Despite attracting some of the hottest local and international acts year after year, the festival has still managed to retain its original set of values – championing community, fostering collaboration, encouraging self-expression, and finding ongoing excuses to have fun. This year St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is truly going back to its roots with the addition of BLOCK PARTY, a raucous street party happening within the festival itself that will throw back to the early days of Laneway. Expect hot and heavy sets from the likes of Basenji, Dameeeela, Haiku Hands, Jesswar, UV boi, Wiki and Willaris. K to set the vibe.
The 2018 edition of the boutique gathering has a line-up studded with acts across a huge range of genres, all handpicked for their ability to put on one hell of a show. International names to the tune of Mac DeMarco, Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, BADBADNOTGOOD, Slowdive, The Internet, Aldous Harding and Father John Misty are joined by local legends Amy Shark, The Babe Rainbow, Pond, Cable Ties and more. As well as the live music and block party element, punters can also get amongst delicious grub from some of Brisbane’s favourite food trucks and restaurants – think Mac From Way Back, Popolo, Moo Free Burgers, Gelato Messina and more.
