Following a successful season in Sydney last year, Van Gogh Alive will kick off its two-year tour of Australia in Adelaide, before arriving in our river city. Crafted by the creative folks at Grande Experiences, Van Gogh Alive uses innovative audio-visual technology to transport viewers inside Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Set to send senses into overdrive, the large-scale exhibition will take visitors on an immersive journey into Van Gogh’s artistry in ways they never imagined – through sight, sound and even smell.
The exhibition will be housed in a specially designed and constructed 25,000 square foot immersive gallery called The Grand Pavilion. Designed by Australian designer Anna Cordingley and constructed in Germany under the supervision of Adelaide based company spanIT, this enormous pavilion will take six weeks to build. The Grand Pavilion will house a number of vibrant displays that event-goers can stroll (and snap) through – there’s the flower-filled The Sunflower infinity room, a walk-through recreation of Van Gogh’s painting Starry Night and a life-sized representation of Van Gogh’s Bedroom – one of his most famous pieces of work. Dates for the Brisbane experience will be running from October 29 at Northshore Hamilton – to secure your tickets, head to the official website.
