Going a bit stir-crazy? West Village is here to help with a bunch of boredom-busting online events

As the coronavirus crisis rolls on, indoors activity ideas are dwindling. To help cure your case of cabin fever – and because they know you can't come to them – the team at West Village is bringing its event calendar to you. The precinct has introduced a new online cultural hub featuring free, informative and entertaining activities to be enjoyed from the comforts of home. Available to access through its website, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channel, West Village's activities will help keep your mind occupied, body limber and little ones busy. From daily children's activities to keep young creative minds stimulated, to health and wellness tutorials, gardening tips and tricks and more, here's what's coming to a screen near you via the creative folks at West Village.

West Village is well aware that keeping young minds busy during school holidays is difficult enough in normal circumstances – let alone during a quasi-lockdown/home-schooling period – so the team has introduced Creative Kids Online, a fun bunch of daily videos and step-by-step workshops to keep little ones entertained at home. From funny toilet roll creatures to colourful doily dancer paintings and step-by-step instructions on how to draw a dragon, there’s plenty to keep the kids engaged (and distracted enough to allow you to punch out some emails). If quarantine cooking is your new hobby, then the weekly Kids in the Kitchen video series is also one to check out. Chefs Matt Golinski and Alastair McLeod have put together some easy-to-make recipes that are uploaded every Thursday, from kid-friendly sushi to choc-chip cookies and chicken broth with ginger, turmeric and lemongrass – the kids will be mini MasterChefs in no time.

With most of us working from home, juggling a new routine and fitting in exercise and a bit of me-time can be difficult. Enter HOWY (Home Office Work Yoga), West Village’s free yoga classes that have been specifically designed for those working from home. Grab your mat, stretch out those limbs and elevate your at-home workout with these easy-to-follow videos that provide simple breathing and yoga stretches, plus tips to help take a little of the tension from your body – because boy, we all need to de-stress.

Wanting to cultivate a green thumb with all of your newfound spare time? Some extra time enjoying sunshine and fresh air is beneficial whilst self-isolating, and gardening is one of the best ways to do this! West Village Gardener Online provides you with a series of tutorials and tips to help improve your gardening skills – think how to water your fiddle fig, how to prune your peace lily and tips to let your succulents thrive – and help turn your home into a lush sanctuary that resembles a glorious greenhouse. Costa would be so proud.
