It’s been a huge year for the Brisbane Powerhouse’s Writers+Ideas so far, with the latest instalment of internet legend Mark Manson’s one-off appearance causing tickets to sell out in just one day. There is still plenty of excellence on offer within the star-studded September and October program but it’s best to get in quick – seeing cult hero Dean Strang from Making a Murderer in conversation with the ABC’s Walkley Award-winning Paul Barclay chatting all things justice is going to be a serious highlight. Carrying on the political theme is A.C. Grayling discussing democracy and its crisis, complete with audience input and participation.
The next part of Writers+Ideas commences with two Richards – Flanagan and Fidler. The two will be sharing the Powerhouse Theatre for a powerful discussion on Flangan’s new novel First Person, in what promises to be an evening full of surprises and passion. Rounding out the October offering is Tim Rogers, the rock’n’roll raconteur you may know as fronting You Am I. Tim will be in conversation with Paul, waxing lyrical on his recently published memoir Detours with many a juicy tale and poignant insight thrown in for good measure.
Don’t miss out – you can check dates and grab tickets to the various Writers+Ideas sessions through the Brisbane Powerhouse website.
