Byron Bay Bluesfest is Australia’s premier contemporary blues and roots music festival. It showcases music from around the world annually on the Easter long weekend on 120 hectares at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm, just north of Byron Bay in New South Wales.
Bluesfest presents more than 200 performances with up to seven stages over five twelve-hour days, as well as five licensed bars, more than 100 food and market stalls, undercover food courts, beer gardens, and children’s entertainment.
The 31st annual Bluesfest line-up is one of the most ambitious offerings to date. The first announcement sees the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Crowded House, Kool & the Gang, Patti Smith and Her Band, George Benson, Brandi Carlile, John Butler, Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire, Morcheeba, John Prine, Jenny Lewis, Frank Turner, John Mayall, Buffy Sainte-Marie, The Marcus King Band, Walter Trout, Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram, Greensky Bluegrass, Larkin Poe and The War & Treaty join the line-up.
The second announcement added more star power to the line-up, adding Lenny Kravitz, Jimme Vaughan, The Waterboys, Eagles of Death Metal, Ani Difranco and more. Already bustling with pure talent, the third announcement packed in Kool & the Gang, The Gipsy Kings ft. Nicolas Reyes and Tonino Baliardo, Guy Sebastian, Allen Stone, Dweezil Zappa, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Waifs, Erja Lyytinen, Chain and Ash Grunwald with plenty more to be announced in the lead-up to the festival.
