If you’ve ever wandered through the city and had your ears prick up at the sound of some sweet, sweet unexpected live music, odds are it was the doing of City Sounds.

City Sounds is Australia’s largest free live music program, presenting local and touring bands and artists in the Queen Street Mall, Post Office Square, South Bank and other locations around Brisbane each week.

Since 2000, City Sounds has been at the forefront of the local music scene, introducing Brisbane to up-and-coming local musicians via live performances scattered around the city like Easter eggs. City Sounds has also established itself as Australia’s largest free live music program – in 2014 alone they presented more than 2250 performances in 20 venues around Brisbane’s CBD.

With everything from alternative and folk, to jazz and electro, and everything in between, City Sounds has something for every music lover.
