Colour – three Brisbane female artists and an eclectic collaboration with something for everyone.

Artists – Cecily Slade, Catherine Hamilton-Jones and Lin Stanton.

Presenting a new collection of large floral works Cecily Slade explores the intricate beauty and harmonies that exist in the fine details within nature. These works are statement pieces, they command a space and create an atmosphere in the home. Design, aesthetics and structure are paramount in her work and viewers are invited to sink into the work like a meditation and open their heart to the beauty and life energy within the bloom. These paintings offer peace, tranquility and joy.

In her paintings, Catherine Hamilton-Jones aims to capture the unique light, contrasts and striking colour combinations found in Australian Landscapes and along our coastlines. She often draws inspiration from places around Queensland that she has visited and to which she an emotional connection. Catherine prefers to create artworks that trigger a feeling of recognition or connection, but ultimately provide a sense of enjoyment and escape for the viewer.

Lin Stanton’s work as an intuitive abstractionist is a multi-layered feast of intelligent complexity and clever use of colour portraying a lifetime’s experience as an artist who is just now coming into her most interesting evolution. Her new collection of abstract works entitled “The Scribblers” uses trees as a thematic inspiration. Her characteristic hard edge style combines with softer statements and mark making producing works that are both organic and very different.

This exhibition not only features original works but for patrons who are looking for a more affordable option these three artists have a large collection of reproductions available making this exhibition accessible for everyone.

Opening night Friday 31st May 6:30–9:00 pm
