In Pain features 40 self-portraits investigating the influence of chronic pain and chronic conditions whether physical or psychological, on intrapersonal communication and social behaviour. Inspired by her ongoing battle with pain since childhood and the many faces of pain she observes in life, Shereen’s work delves into the human condition, and investigates vulnerability, pain and suffering, exploring both the fragility and the resilience of the human body, mind and soul. Integrating several media into one entity, her latest body of work blurs the boundaries between painting, photography and digital art.
