Held annually on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) over the last week-end of October, Island Vibe Festival is a multi-faceted celebration of island culture that includes art exhibitions, interactive workshops, stalls, circus, eco-food and craft markets. Four stages are host to over 80 mighty reggae, roots, soul and electronic acts – including Indigenous and Pacific Islander dance and cultural groups – gathering on Minjerribah for a celebration of music, dance, art and culture.

The 2019 edition of Island Vibe will feature performances by London’s Albert Hall rocking Havana Meets Kingston SoundSystem ft Solis and Brenda Navarette (Cuba), bass producer Monkey Marc featuring an all star entourage with Rider Shafique (UK), Jamacian rapper Fiyah Roiall (JA) and champion turntablist DJ Wasabi. From around Australia, the festival welcomes local party starters Mood Swing & Chevy Bass, Melbourne’s Ganga Giri the master of the didgeridoo and djembe, and Queensland’s ska massive The Sunny Coast RudeBoys. Also performing will be Byron Bay’s Brazillian born reggae star Kimmy, surf ska lords Drop Legs, Jamilla with her fresh nu-soul feels all the way from Perth, and Lady Banton adding to the femme all stars this year with her infectious rhythms.

The world famous Point Lookout on Stradbroke Island is located only 90 minutes from Brisbane, and the festival site itself is located in the oval beside the stunning Home Beach, allowing festival-goers the opportunity to bask in the cooling azure waters of the South Pacific between performances.

Island Vibe would like to acknowledge and thank the traditional custodians of the Quandamooka region (Moreton Bay area), the Nunukal, Nughie and Goenpul people of Minjerribah (Stradbroke Island) and Moorgumpin (Moreton Island). The festival team also extends its thanks and respect to the entire Island community whose support and goodwill make this festival possible.
