Brisbane City Council is encouraging keen photographers of all ages to enter the Lord Mayor’s Green Heart Photography Competition and share in great prizes. The competition asks you to snap creative and emotive images that inspire people to act more sustainably. This year’s theme is all about keeping Brisbane clean, green and sustainable.
Entries are open to all ages, and categories include:
- primary school
- secondary school
- open
Entries open September 8 to October 8 – 30 shortlisted finalists will be open to public voting from October 14-24 .Winners will be announced by the Lord Mayor at a public event on Friday October 27 at QPAC’s Green Jam which will feature a gallery of the top 30 finalist’s images.
Prizes on offer for this year’s competition include:
- Overall winner – family overnight getaway package for two adults and two children at Tangalooma Island Resort.
- Category winners – family day getaway package for two adults and two children at Tangalooma Island Resort.
- Category runners up – camera and equipment gift vouchers to the value of $100.
- Voters prize – a randomly selected voter will also win a family day getaway package for two adults and two children at Tangalooma Island Resort.
Photography workshops with acclaimed photographers such as Steve Parish, Paul Harrop and Dean Holland will be held during September and October to assist entrants in brushing up on their photography skills.
