Gears and rods and bearings and cardboard, this is all about creating a one of a kind, mechanical cabaret to amaze just about everyone with your cleverness. Absolutely no experience is required.
The iconic view of the Brisbane River, the “Wheel of Brisbane” and QPAC is precisely cut to scale out of cardboard and presented in a flat pack kit. The wheel slowly turns as a ferry boat cruises by. This kit can be assembled by teens and adults. It is educational in that it demonstrates the use of electrical circuits, pulleys, ratios and cranks.
At the end of the workshop, you will take home your own uniquely decorated moving creation!
This kit is designed by William Davy, a Brisbane based artist and winner of the 2017 Brisbane City Council “Salvage” art competition.
