UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Fez Faanana will not be appearing in Queerstories on Thu 13 September. We are excited to welcome writer and poet Peter Mitchell to share his story in Fez’s absence.
After playing to a packed house at Brisbane Comedy Festival, Queerstories returns with a stellar line up of stars and strangers.
Join host Maeve Marsden and some of Queensland’s finest LGBTQI+ storytellers for an evening of unexpected tales, of lives well lived and battles fought, of pride, prejudice, love and humour. Featuring actor Steven Oliver (ABC TV’s Black Comedy), musician and radio presenter Eddie Ayres, author Krissy Kneen, photographer Ali Choudhry and writer and poet Peter Mitchell.
Now running regularly in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Queerstories brings together storytellers from all walks of (queer) life. Funny, moving, surprising and engaging, the stories are shared on the event’s popular podcast, which now boasts over 60 incredible episodes.
Queerstories at Brisbane Powerhouse is also a launch for the Queerstories book, published by Hachette and edited by Maeve Marsden,
