It’s going to be a night of seriously infectious electronic rock at O’Skulligan’s on Friday 25 June when Gold Coast three-piece Super Massive launch their ultra-funky, dance-inducing disco track ‘I Like It’, with special guest Damien Johnson, as part of their I Like It 2021 Tour.

Super Massive is the creative co-writing partnership of singer/songwriter Malina Hamilton-Smith and ex-Machine Gun Fellatio drummer/composer/producer Glenn Abbott.
The pair formed Super Massive when they discovered a shared love of vintage 70’s funk and disco, and a common vision of creating a true 50/50 blend of electronic dance and rock. Guitarist Tyr Kovacic (aka The Disco Jesus) joined the band in 2018.
Super Massive’s show is an intoxicating blend of theatrics and pure hedonistic catharsis, featuring catchy, dance-inducing tunes, glam costumes and a good dose of fun led by dynamic frontwoman Malina.
Their song set is a rollercoaster ride from catchy synthpop into euphoric disco, into darker, more atmospheric, alternative songs.
Super Massive have released an EP and seven singles to date, and toured venues and festivals in Australia and Asia for over seven years, to hot ticket recommendations in metro press and repeat play on alternative radio across the country as well as in the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, Portugal and Mexico.

Damien Johnson is an alt-electro-rock artist who blends pre-produced samples with live-looping to create a powerfully dynamic live performance. His lyrics are often fuelled by political and social issues, and he has been hailed as artist whose music is a challenge to the societal and political structures that influence our culture today. He has sold-out several shows in recent times and has received critical acclaim for his live energy.
