Conceived and created by John Cameron Mitchell, Hedwig and the Angry Inch started out as a drag show at the notorious New York City club “Squeezebox”.
From there, it became an off-Broadway hit, and in 2001 Mitchell co-wrote, directed and starred in the movie adaptation winning Best Director at Sundance, a Golden Globe nomination and thirteen years later a Tony Award for his reprisal of the show on Broadway.
In a highly anticipated, one night only performance, Tony-Award winning, Golden Globe-nominated co-creator of Hedwig and The Angry Inch John Cameron Mitchell brings songs and stories from his ground-breaking history in The Origin of Love. In this special cabaret-style show Mitchell will perform the much-loved rock ballads from his cult-classic musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
So put on your make-up, turn up the eight-track and pull the wig down from the shelf – for a night of post-punk, neo-glam rock – a collective quest for love, hope and identity.
