While international travel is off the cards for the foreseeable future, that doesn’t mean we’re forbidden from dreaming of a glamorous winter holiday – and the Veuve Clicquot Chalet at Customs House will give you that and more, minus the stamp in your passport. The Veuve Clicquot Chalet, open to the public from Friday, July 24, is an Aspen-style winter paradise complete with individual pop-up igloo chalets – thoroughly Instagrammable content. A visit to this dreamy winter paradise will have you feeling thoroughly après-ski (even though you’ll be looking out over the Brisbane River).

Chalet patrons can sip on glasses of Veuve Clicquot NV for $20 and snag whole bottles for $100, while bottles of Veuve Clicquot Rosé (the first-ever sparkling rosé, developed by the Grande Dame Madame Clicquot herself) and Veuve Clicquot 2008 Vintage will be available for the true ballers. If you’re not into the bubbly life, there is also a selected range of wines and beers to imbibe.

We all know that a true highlight of any winter wonderland experience is the aperitivo hour, and the Veuve Clicquot Chalet certainly delivers on this front. You can sip on a frosty Polish Mule (Belvedere Pure, elderflower syrup, Fever Tree ginger beer, Angostura bitters and lime) or an espresso martini, all while rugged up in a cosy chair and fantasising about the day when you can hop on a plane and head to the French Alps.

The Veuve Clicquot Chalet’s menu makes the most of our stunning Queensland winters with a cute continental twist – think classic cold-weather bites including Hervey Bay scallops with cauliflower puree and chorizo crumb, or whole baked brie with thyme and crostini. Are you bad at making decisions? You’re in luck – for the duration of the pop-up, a citrus-poached Moreton Bay Bug croissant with lime mayo, chips with truffle aioli served with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut will be available for a cool $40. It’s the perfect post-work snack or Saturday afternoon pre-game, if we’re being honest.

While walk-ins are welcome at the Veuve Clicquot Chalet, individual chalets can be reserved on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00–5:00 pm (minimum spends apply).
