The Calile Hotel announces arrival of new food precinct Ada Lane

Following hot on the heels of the announcement of The Calile Hotel’s retail precinct and first permanent restaurant, James Street’s anticipated luxury arrival has revealed details of adjoining hospitality-focused development. Ada Lane will add five new street-level tenancies to the area, creating a micro-precinct dedicated to food and drink.

Excitement is ramping up surrounding The Calile Hotel’s arrival following the news of a new curated boutique offering and Hellenika coming on board as the hotel’s first confirmed restaurant. Ada Lane, the project’s newest announcement, further fleshes out the precinct’s hospitality selection, with five new operators set to open in the adjoining laneway later this year. The development will link the hotel and Pottery Barn by connecting James and Wandoo Streets, acting as a conduit between the hotel’s ground-floor tenancies and the West Elm building.

Paying homage to the Malouf ancestry, Ada Lane has been named after the family’s great grandmother Ada, who immigrated to Australia with her husband Calile in 1892. Both pedestrians and vehicles will be able to utilise the laneway, with Ada Lane featuring a continuation of the established aesthetic designed by architectural firm Richards and Spence. The tenancies will boast facades comprised of white brick, natural stone and structural concrete, as well as integrated gardens, suspended planters and operable facades. We’ll have more details on the retailers as we get closer to the opening date.
