Alf’s Place kicks off its housewarming festivities with Sticky Fingers Smokehouse

In the wake of the closure of Alfredo’s Pizzeria came the news that the space would still be put to good use. The pizza oven has barely tuned cold before a hot new concept has taken over the venue. Alf’s Place will be home to a rotating cast of pop-ups. To kick things off, Sticky Fingers Smokehouse will be plating the finest American-style barbecue for ravenous Valley revellers. But don’t dawdle – this barbecue bad boy won’t be lingering for long.

Hospitality legend Damian Griffiths (Les Bubbles, Alfred & Constance, Doughnut Time) has never been a man to sit idly, raking in the spoils of his foodie empire. Like any pioneer, he has continuously sought out ways to bolster Brisbane’s dining scene with new concepts, and the latest shake-up in his portfolio looks to further introduce new cuisine to the Fortitude Valley scene. Alfredo’s Pizzeria has closed to make way for Alf’s Place – a home for a continuously transforming restaurant that will put forth a new concept each week.

First cab off the rank is Sticky Fingers Smokehouse – an American barbecue restaurant helmed by Joshua Lawson (ex BLVD), who will be plating up a range of wood-smoked meats, including pork spare ribs, smoked sausages and grain-fed beef brisket, as well as sides such as mac ‘n’ cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. Before you can properly lick the sauce off your fingers Sticky Fingers Smokehouse will be gone, but it won’t be long before Alf’s will once again be home to a new pop-up. On Thursday September 28 Alf’s Place will welcome Midnight Dining Club, a late-night concept from the mind of ex-Masterchef contestant Danielle Dixon. Midnight Dining Club will run until the early hours of the morning and will serve an ever-changing menu with all manner of bites that you crave late at night.

Sticky Fingers Smokehouse will be open to the public from September 14–16 and September 21–23 from 5:00 pm until sold out. Head to the Stumble Guide for more details.

The Stumble Guide is our comprehensive Brisbane dining guide with more than 2400 places to eat, drink, shop and play.
