On any given Wednesday, inner-city workers, students and tourists could be seen mingling and browsing the goods for sale at the mid-week markets at Reddacliff Place. The Brisbane City Markets – formerly operated by the Jan Powers Farmers Markets group – underwent an ownership change at the end of 2018, transitioning to become a part of the Goodwill Projects portfolio. The group, responsible for successful markets at Carseldine, Milton, Nundah and Kuraby, is overseeing the mid-week hub for the foreseeable future, starting with the official grand opening this week.
Like any good market, the Brisbane City edition will offer delicious goodies including spray and pesticide-free produce, gourmet breads and pastries, local seafood and premium meats and a host of vendors hawking clothing, accessories and more. Live entertainment will also be a big focus, with talented performers encouraged to get in touch to apply for gigs. If you’ve got your green bag handy, you can shop up a storm at the Brisbane City Markets every Wednesday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
